"We have found Karla to be a very experienced and knowledgeable trainer.  Her training approach with both Beau and ourselves has been very successful in accomplishing the results that we had hoped for.  Her gentle yet stern approach with Beau was very beneficial in establishing the foundation for an obedient and happy puppy.

We feel the knowledge that she shared with us will help us to continue to make Beau a well-behaved dog that will fit into our family lifestyle.

We would like to extend a big "THANK YOU" to Karla for a job well done!

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to thank Karla for her dedication and hard work in training my 1 yr old beagle, Jade.  I cannot begin to tell you how much of a difference Karla has made with both Jade's and my life!

Despite all I had read, I attempted to train her myself.  When this didn't work, I tried taking her to a group class.  Eventually, Jade would revert back to her old ways.

It's been six weeks since we started Jade's training.  I learned a great deal of training techniques that I use on a daily basis with Jade.  Karla was very patient with both Jade and I.  Her patience and persistence has paid off in a big way!  Jade is much more responsive and friendly, and hasn't chewed anything since!

Sincerely,

Dean A. Laddie

Dear Karla,

We can't thank you enough for helping train us and our pride and joys, Jasmine and Abu.

People thought we were crazy, including ourselves, that we were obedience training our dogs at their age: 7 and 10 yrs.  To our surprise, they did extremely well.

Jasmine and Abu have always given us great pleasure, even more so now.  They seem to be even happier than before and always eager to please us.

Once again, we can't thank you enough!.  I guess it goes to show "you CAN teach an old dog new tricks".

Sincerely,

David and Donna Williams

To Whom It May Concern

In March 2002, my 9 yr old Terrier "Holly" had bitten my 2 1/2 yr old daughter, and my husband was ready to get rid of her.  We were also having problems with my 5 yr old Chow/Malamute Mix, "Taz", who was leaving us little presents when we were gone.  We were lucky to get Karla as our trainer.

In the past month and a half, we have made progress with Holly’s aggression with the training.  Also, with Karla's suggestion of taking her to the vet for some x-rays, we learned that not only did she have severe arthritis, but also that her knew were popping out of place which was causing her pain and adding to her aggression.

Karla is very knowledgeable, and took the time to watch the interaction of my dogs with the family.  Since she started training, Holly has improved greatly, and Taz has not left us with any more presents.

Thank you so much!

To Whom it May Concern:

I just wanted to take the time to drop a short word of praise for Carla.  Carla tells me that I can never forget to praise my dog, so I think I should remember to praise her as well.

When I contacted Carla, I had never owned a dog before.

Carla not only took the time to teach me about my dog's training, but she also took time to explain things like proper nutrition, the importance of preventative medical care, and even things as simple as the best toys for my dog.

Carla did a great job with my dog.  Sammie was destructive and obnoxious before training, and now, I am confident with my dog and her training.  Carla taught her to heel with an auto sit, down/stay, sit/stay, come, place, stop on recall, return to heel and some other stuff.  She said that Sammie was a quick study and had the ability to do just about anything.

I can't that you enough for helping me to enjoy my dog more!

Thanks,

Steve Senter

To Whom It May Concern:

We would like to compliment Karla on the professional manner in which she has trained “Jane”, along with Katie and me.  Her love for animals is obvious, and our results have been tremendous.  Everywhere we go, people are amazed at how well behaved our dog is at such a young age.  Heel, sit, stay, come, down and place are just a few of the commands we have learned.

Karla is a cool cookie!  We were on the front lawn training one day, and across the way there was a large dog that had gotten loose.  The owner and the police were all running around trying to catch this dog.  Well, Karla, finally had enough of that situation, and calmly walked across the street, grabbed the dog and returned it to the owner.  All were amazed!

That says it all….

Dear Karla,

I would like to thank you for your efforts at teaching me to train my dog, Auggie.  My relationship with Auggie has grown even closer now that he is better trained.

I realize how important it is to constantly review all commands so that nothing gets forgotten.  Auggie is proud to show me all that he knows when asked.

People rave at Auggie’s well-behaved mannerisms and I am so proud to be at the other end of his leash.  He could not have done it without your guidance.

Thanks Again,

Auggie and Cathy.

To Whom It May Concern:

Josie, our 1-½ yr old yellow Lab, is a joy to be around, well behaved and loves learning new things.  Karen and I have Karla to thank for that.  When we first got in touch with Karla, Josie’s behavior, although typical of labs, was completely unbearable.  Burdened by housebreaking accidents, chewing on furniture, and items of all sorts as well as issues with pulling on the leash, we decided to contact Karla for support in living with and training Josie.

What we needed was a little help to get us going in the right direction.  We were new to dog owning and weren’t familiar with the psychology and methods involved in obedience training.  What we were able to learn from Karla was that consistency and confidence would enable us to achieve the specific goals that we had developed to properly teach and better care for our little baby, Josie.

With Karla’s assistance we learned that with practice, firmness, and dedication, we would be able to achieve our goals of housebreaking, correct improper leash walking and basic obedience commands.  Within Karla’s first visit to our home, Josie was on her way to becoming the delightful, well-behaved dog that she is today.  Karla’s experience, insight, expertise, and love provide the perfect remedy to our puppy problems.  Karla made training enjoyable and exciting for all three of us.

We are so thankful for Karla’s help and would highly recommend her for services.

Lyle, Karen, and Josie

Dear Karla,

I want to thank you for helping me learn to deal with Heidi.  I was ready to call Weimaraner Rescue until you came.  You taught Heidi and me so much.  She knows her place in the family.  Connor is even getting respect now.

I will continue to work with her like you taught me, and I am looking forward to a long, loving relationship with her.

Sincerely,

Shelly Moore.

Dear Karla

Thank you so much.  You have made a tremendous difference in all of our lives.  Before you arrived to “straighten” us all out, we were a mess.  My husband and I had the best intentions in raising our “baby” Shags, an Old English Sheep Dog.   To make a long story short, Karla taught us how we had become loyal servants to our dog instead of the other way around.  We have since become the leaders of the pack!  Through Karla’s hard work and endless determination we are all in the correct pecking order.  I honestly don’t know how Karla restrained herself from strangling us!  We will be forever grateful for Karla, she has completely changed all of our lives.

Thanks Again,

Lisa and Ward Freer

RE: Training

To Whom It May Concern:

Hi, my name is Zouk, and I am an 8 month Australian Shepherd. When I was 5 months old, I used to take my Mom for a walk, and my Mom was very tired of being pulled and having me in control. She called Canine Counselors, and the next thing I knew, Miss Carla was at the door. I thought, great, another playmate. Soon I realized that this was not the case. My Mom said that I dragged her for walks and she thought that I was not able to be controlled. Miss Carla said that at the end of our first session, I would be heeling on command. My Mom was not too sure, and I was sure that I would not be heeling. Miss Carla took my leash and outside we went……..and would you believe, in 15 minutes I was healing with Miss Carla. I thought okay, I will give her this one, thinking that I would never see her again. Would you believe that she showed up the following week? She was going to teach me “sit” with the heeling. Yea, right, I thought………..and again, I was sitting with heeling………..I was wondering who was this woman? When she showed up for the third time, I realized that she was here to set my life on the right path. I gave her grief, but she would not take it…………the third week, I learned the word “down” and after 10 minutes, the word was burned into my brain. Soon, I looked forward to her visits, wondering what I was going to learn next. I have learned “place” and “stay” and “come” and I could go on and on. My most resent visit with Miss Carla was a field trip. I am in training to be a “therapy” dog, you know the one that goes into hospitals and nursing homes, you see, I love being with people. My final visit was going into a restaurant and I did very well, being in the down position for over 20 minutes, remember, I am still a puppy at 8 months. I would recommend Miss Carla to anyone that wants control, because I thought I had control, but Miss Carla showed me different. My Mom is so happy with my progress and loves to tell everyone about me and Miss Carla.

Miss Carla will always be a very important part of my life as well as my Mom’s. I will miss her when the training has ended, but I know that that she has led me to a life that will be more rewarding and pleasant.

Sincerely,

Zouk

Karla has come to our home on several visits to work with us to train our Casey. Casey is our Golden Retriever. She is full of energy and has a mind of her own. She is four and a half months old and well on her way to being a very well mannered young lady. We feel we have not done our part as much for we work a lot. Nevertheless we think we are coming along very well. Karla has done a wonderful job in a short period of time in helping us to train. Karla is direct and to the point. A value needed to get good training. Karla has shown us that it is not just about the animal it is about your self too. Her words of wisdom will be with us for the rest of our lives. Follow what she says and you cannot go wrong.

Sincerely,

Jim McBryde and

To Whom It May Concern:

My Husband and I purchased a Maltese puppy in September of 2002.  We found her chewing and housetraining impossible to deal with.  We were referred to C.C.

Karla Klinch was our trainer who met with us for 6 consecutive weeks.

After "Zuki's" training she became a well mannered, housebroken, integral part of the family.

Karla was always punctual and extremely helpful in assisting us with Zuki.  If I ever needed to speak with her, she always returned my calls promptly.

I value Karla's expertise in dog training and can't say enough about how pleasant she was to work with.

Respectfully,

Monica Gettleman

To Whom It May Concern:

In October of 2001, we bought a yellow lab puppy, eight weeks old, and weighing in at 22lbs.  His father was huge and yellow; his mother was chocolate and hyperactive.  We found that we now owned a big yellow, hyper puppy.  We tried, in vain, to train and civilize our darling.

Edward had learned some things from his friend who had been a canine officer with BSO years ago.  With this knowledge, Edward had been able to train our older black lab when she was a puppy with no problem.  This knowledge didn't seem to make a difference with Whitey.

In desperation, we called Canine Counselors and paid a large fee.  We were very lucky when Karla was assigned our case.  She came, and within minutes, Whitey knew she was the boss.  We were absolutely amazed and thrilled with the progress Karla was able to make with Whitey.  She taught us how to practice with Whitey.  She gave us homework.  She turned Whitey into a dog we could live with.  Quite frankly, we're not sure any other trainer could have handled and trained Whitey as well as Karla Clinch.

We will always be in Karla's Fan Club!  She's the Best!!

Sincerely,

Martha and Edward Walsh,

Dear Canine Counselors:

Thank you so much for sending Karla Clinch to us. We called Canine Counselors to help us prepare our dog, Shadow, for the arrival of our new baby. Karla stepped up to the challenge of helping us with our dominant, mixed breed dog. She assisted us with identifying problem behaviors and provided clear and simple strategies for redirecting Shadow.

Since we began training Shadow under Karla’s supervision, we have noticed a significant improvement in several areas. First, Shadow rarely begs for food at the table these days. He has learned that we eat first and he will follow a down command for up to thirty minutes while we eat. Also, it is much more pleasant to walk Shadow now. He no longer pulls on the leash. We set the pace and he follows along at our side. Lastly, Shadow does not try to bolt out the door every time we open it now. He will wait next to the door without trying to leave.

Karla demonstrates a solid understanding of animal behavior, which has helped us to alleviate some of Shadow’s bad habits. In addition, her honest, no nonsense approach has made it very easy for us to work with her in achieving our goals.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Dear Karla,

We just wanted to thank you for the excellent training you gave to Curby.  Curby was just 4 months old when you started training him.  He was quite disobedient (“pitiful”?) and was still learning the basics of housetraining.  Your caring and gentle methods worked immediately.  In the very first visit you had him sitting and staying.  You also trained him not to run out the door.  He was always happy and excited to see you and truly enjoyed working with you.  At seven months old, he is now able to follow all basic commands (sit, stay, come, down) and now rings the bell by the door when he has to go out.

We are extremely pleased with Curby’s progress and we thank you for making him such a pleasure to live with.

                                                                       Sincerely,

Karla,

We as a family would like to THANK YOU for your expertise in training
Kipper. He is quite a different puppy since we first attended your training classes.
No more nipping, he's potty trained, sits, stays and goes to his place.
He is in my daughters room as I type, this is the first dog I have ever owned that I let
pass the kitchen area. And to think he is only five months old.
We look forward to attending your advanced training class begining in May.
