Why is that dog in here?

That dog that you refer to is an assistance dog for a disabled person

Where are assistance dogs allowed to be?

Assistance dogs are allowed to go anywhere that you can go.  Think of it this way:  Would you tell someone that they couldn't bring their wheelchair, hearing aid, glasses or crutches in?  If not, they must be allowed to bring their assistance dog.

But they don't look disabled?

Not all disabilities are visible, and it may be very personal.  So please, don't ask unless the person volunteers.

But that doesn't look like an assistance dog.

Assistance dogs may be any size, sex or breed of dog.  The federal law does not require them to be certified, carry ID, or to be "dressed".  Nor does the federal law require a person to tell you what their disability is or demonstrate how their dog helps them.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISTRACT OR PET AN ASSISTANCE DOG.  TO DO SO, MAY CAUSE THE DOG TO GET INTO TROUBLE, OR CAUSE INJURY TO THE DISABLED PERSON!

Please Remember:  We All Enjoy Our Privacy!
