Susan Bass has had many accomplishments in her career with Canines.
She
started in the mid 1980's is Search and Rescue with a German Shepherd
and later a Bloodhound.
She was President of MO SAR K-9 for 2 years and
became a zone adviser for 11 States in SAR with the North American
Search Dog Net Work.
She was a member of the North American Police
Work Dog Assoc for 9yrs. Training Narcotic detector dogs and Tracking
dogs for Law Enforcement.
She was on call out for Tactical Manhunts
and is proficient in working and training aggression dogs for
different applications.
She trained Field trial retrievers for a short
time also.
In the 1990's Susan Bass specialized in a new field, going
to Dr. Bergins first school to learn how to train Service Dogs for
disabled in California.
In 1994 she graduated her first Service dogs
working for Therapeautic Animals Inc.
She later launched the Dept of
Defenses Service Dog Training Center for Disabled Soldiers and Veterans
to receive Service Dogs from 1997-2003.
Most recently she has worked as
an Evaluator and Certifier of Military Working dogs in Patrol, Drugs
and Explosives. She is one of a few cizilians that are Certified as a
Military Working Dog Handler.
Just prior to returning to her home in
Missouri Susan served as kennel manager and Quality Assurance Evaluator
at Lackland Air Force Bases Militay Working Dog Kennel which is the
largest kennel in the World.
She is known for teaching specialty
commands and tasks for unique applications.
Many of her courses were
taught to At-Risk Teenagers in Alturnative High School, and Inmates in
Military and State Facilities.
Her style is motivating and personalized
to her students.
The Dog Obedience Instructor Training (DOIT) Course
was accredited as an Advance Applied Psycology Class.
Susan has been
sharing her knowledge of training dogs for diverse tasks continuously
during her career in seminars and profession instructor training
classes and looks forward to this next class in 2007.
